This course introduces social protection and relates it to international conventions and their reflection in the national legislation. It explains the history of social protection in Europe and relates it to poverty and the structure of societies. Concepts and means to protect the poor and vulnerable are developed.
Controlling in Health Insurance- Self-paced e-learning course
In this course, participants will learn how controlling can be managed in health insurance. It introduces various forms of operational controlling in health insurance companies and their underlying activities and instruments. The strategic process in a health insurance company, the principles of implementing and reporting of strategic controlling are presented.
The Visible Hand – e-Learning Course
This course is focused on the role of economics in dealing with scarce resources and fair allocation of goods and services in health care. It introduces measuring the flow of funds in a health system through different forms of health care financing arrangements. The questions why health care should not be left to the market allocation mechanism and why the government might intervene are discussed.
