2015 marks the start of the ‘post-MDG’ era and while the Millennium Development Goals could not reach all their targets, health system strengthening (HSS) is key to all programme interventions in health.
The goal of the forum was to use country examples to explore harmonization and integration of quality improvement initiatives and the link to health systems strengthening. The first QI Forum took place on June 19th – 20th 2014.
While patient safety is universally recognized as a key theme in advancing health care systems, it is yet to be integrated into a broader spectrum of topics and methods addressing health care systems as a whole.
