Public Health Preparedness and Response (PHPR) training programme

Location: Europe  |  Funded by: ECDC | 2024 – 2025

This training is developed for the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and is designed to provide valuable tools and insights for professionals in public health emergency preparedness in the EU. It has launched in February 2025, kicking off with a face-to-face week in Stockhold and currently continuing online throught the ECDC learning portal https://learning.ecdc.europa.eu/

This programme plays a vital role in fulfilling the ECDC’s mission to provide accessible, comprehensive, and coherent public health emergency preparedness training. By participating, you’ll help boost the Member States’ ability to respond to serious cross-border health threats (SCBTH) through an increased number of trained and skilled professionals. Additionally, this programme fosters the development of a common language among trainees.

The curriculum features clearly defined and unified terminology, definitions, and methodologies related to emergency preparedness and response (EPR), all based on the latest evidence and developments from key stakeholders relevant to EU Member countries. The PHPR training programme also offers a fantastic platform for networking and continuous exchange of experiences among public health specialists in this field.

We are excited to have you on board and look forward to the valuable contributions you’ll make to enhance public health preparedness across Europe!

The Emergency Preparedness and Response cycle (EPR) cycle’s phases was used as a basis to structure the training programme.
