Climate and Health, One Health

Climate Health & One Health

Addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, and human, animal and ecosystem health is at the core of our Climate Health and One Health initiatives. Our work combines research, policy analysis and evidence-based gap assessments to understand current practices and identify where systems can be strengthened. We support governments and partners in translating this knowledge into practical solutions that enhance resilience and integrate One Health approaches into national and local strategies.

We can help to:

  • conduct comprehensive climate–health risk assessments and analyse existing adaptation practices to identify gaps in preparedness, surveillance and response. Our expertise includes evaluating early warning systems, community resilience models and climate-sensitive disease monitoring.
  • review and assess current One Health practices across human, animal and environmental sectors, identifying collaboration gaps and opportunities for integrated action. This includes zoonotic disease prevention, antimicrobial resistance strategies and cross-sectoral coordination mechanisms.
  • support the development of climate-resilient and sustainable health systems through evidence-based policy advice, institutional capacity building and the design of low-carbon, environmentally responsible health interventions.
  • perform environmental and health impact assessments, conduct economic and systems analyses, and generate evidence to inform decision-making. We also explore how innovative tools from digital surveillance platforms to remote sensing can strengthen preparedness and enhance the integration of climate and One Health strategies.
