About Us
Our History
evaplan emerged from and remains closely associated with the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health at the University Hospital Heidelberg, while also collaborating with other institutes and departments of the University of Heidelberg and other academic institutions worldwide. It draws on more than 35 years of professional experience from work conducted around the world.
The organisation serves as a bridge between the best available evidence and its practical use by policymakers and key stakeholders in the public and private sectors, supporting the development of public health strategies that address major health challenges.
evaplan’s professional team includes experts in medicine, public health, epidemiology, health economics, social sciences, and medical anthropology. They have first-hand experience working across Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America, and the team is both multicultural and multilingual. Senior staff are involved in research and teaching in public health programmes at the Heidelberg University and supervise Master’s and doctoral students.
The organisation draws on the broad international network of academics, experts and policymakers.
In 2011 evaplan established a joint venture with the aQua Institute – Göttingen (Institute for Applied Quality Improvement and Research in Health Care), one of the key institutes for quality of care in Germany.
evaplan is ISO 9001:2015 certified and ensures ongoing quality control.
Our Team
evaplan professional staff has a broad range of backgrounds covering public health, epidemiology, teaching, health economics, social sciences and medical anthropology. All collaborators have first-hand experience of working in low-resource contexts and travel frequently on assignments overseas.
The evaplan team is multicultural and multilingual. Some of our staff is also involved in teaching in various training programmes at the Institute of Global Health, University Hospital Heidelberg as well as in the supervision of masters and doctoral students.
